The legendary watches of James Bond - Rolex Submariner 6538 / Seamaster Prefessional 300M

Sean Connery was the first Bond actor in the 1962 film Dr. No. He wore an early Rolex Submariner Explorer 6538 in the film. There is some controversy as to why this particular watch was chosen. Many argue that Ian Fleming refers to a Rolex Explorer instead of a Submariner in his original novellas. Connery nevertheless transformed the Submariner into the original Bond watch. He also wore it in his other Bond films. His successors, George Lazenby and Roger Moore, also remained loyal to the Submariner, although Moore also wore some modified Seiko watches.

Timothy Dalton wore a TAG Heuer in The Living Daylights , but switched back to the Rolex Submariner in Licence to Kill . This was the last time James Bond wore a Rolex in a film. When Pierce Brosnan took on the role of the famous secret agent, the Submariner was replaced by Omega watches. In his four Bond films, Brosnan wore an Omega Seamaster Professional 300M. The first was a quartz version, while the following three had an automatic caliber.

With Daniel Craig in the role of James Bond, 007's watch collection expanded. In Casino Royale, he wore a modern Seamaster Professional 300M Co-Axial and an Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean. In the two subsequent films, Quantum of Solace and Skyfall , he remained loyal to the Planet Ocean - albeit in a different version. In Spectre , Bond wore the limited edition Omega Seamaster 300 Spectre. In the upcoming film, No Time to Die , Bond's service watch is a spectacular edition of the latest Omega Seamaster Professional 300M.
