Military watches of the German Bundeswehr
After the Second World War, many manufacturers supplied watches to the German Armed Forces and other military organizations.
The best known suppliers include Junghans (1959), Heuer (1967), Sinn (in the 1980s and 1990s), Orfina/Porsche Design (1979), Arctos (1982), Tutima (1983) and Tengler (1990).
Well-known models include the Junghans J88/0110, the Heuer 1550 SG and the Sinn 156.
A particularly well-known model is the Porsche Design by IWC Ocean 2000, also called the "Ocean Bund." This watch was produced in three different military versions: for combat diver, for weapon divers, and for mine clearance divers.
All three watch versions were tested by the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) in a dedicated test procedure for pressure resistance to 300 meters and are clearly identifiable by the Bund engraving on the outside of the case back. Furthermore, each of the three model series has a unique Bundeswehr supply number.
