Determining the age of a Carl Suchy & Sons watch

Carl Suchy & Sons was founded in 1822 by watchmaker Carl Suchy in Prague (later also in Vienna). The company developed into a renowned manufacturer of luxury watches and pocket watches in the 19th century.

The company was then an official purveyor to the Austro-Hungarian court and supplied Emperor Franz Joseph I and Empress Elisabeth ("Sisi") with watches.

Around 1918/1920, the historical production line was exhausted as a result of the collapse of the monarchy, and the brand disappeared for almost a century.

Carl Suchy & Sons was officially re-established in 2016 to revive the historic brand with modern mechanical wristwatches.

The first modern model was the Waltz N°1, which appeared on the market in 2017.

Since then, the brand has again been producing limited edition and high-quality mechanical watches (e.g., Belvedere models, Table Waltz Tourbillon, new variations of the Waltz).
