Lange&Söhne Glashütte Age Determination Pocket Watch Chronographs by Movement Number
Share
Movement numbers and year of manufacture of Lange&Söhne pocket watch chronographs in ascending order according to Martin Huber
It is noticeable that apparently - for whatever reason - the watches were not built and numbered consecutively; chronographs keep appearing which are mentioned/registered with a higher movement number than the following years.
Presumably, the year does not describe the time of production, but the time of sale of the chronograph and it was more a matter of chance which chronograph "from stock" with which movement number Lange&Söhne sold to the customer or finally assembled at the customer's request.
In the following list, an attempt is made to assign the earliest identifiable sales date to the movement numbers, because if the movement number 29.853 was sold in 1896, then it must have been built before this date, even if a chronograph only 4 movement numbers higher appears in the lists as "sold" years later.
