Bruno Söhnle Uhren Altersbestimmung - Sammler-Uhren

Bruno Söhnle watches age determination

Some milestones in the brand's history help to put into perspective when mechanical models emerged:

  • 2008: The first mechanical Bruno Söhnle watch was presented (Mechanical Edition I).

  • 2010: First automatic collection.

  • Therefore, you can assume that a mechanical watch was produced no earlier than around 2008.

  • For quartz watches, the period can be somewhat longer (from the brand's launch around 2000).

Story

The one that has been around since 1957 Bruno Söhnle, from Wurmberg in the Black Forest (* 1940), who works in the watchmaking industry Bruno Söhnle founded the watchmaking workshop in Glashütte/Sa. in April 2000 with four employees. As early as 1982, a company belonging to Söhnle was the West German sales partner of the then VEB Glashütter Uhrenbetriebe (GUB).

Initially, Bruno Söhnle produced only wristwatches with Swiss quartz movements from Ronda AG . In 2008, the first hand-wound watch, the Mechanik-Edition I, was produced. The first automatic collection followed in 2010. Bruno Söhnle was the first to resume quartz watch production in Glashütte after the division of GUB, thus establishing Söhnle as an entry-level brand into the world of Glashütte wristwatches.

In 2006, Söhnle purchased the former Assmann House (named after the watchmaker Julius Carl Friedrich Assmann ) at Dresdner Straße 14 in Glashütte, which still housed a restaurant and a guesthouse. This building had been the site of a watchmaking factory for the J. Assmann Deutsche Anker-Uhren-Fabrik Glashütte i. Sa. (J. Assmann German Anchor Watch Factory Glashütte in Saxony) for 150 years prior. Following renovations and the termination of the lease, Söhnle expanded its watchmaking operations to encompass all parts of the building in the spring of 2012. In 2022, the workshop on the second floor of the house consisted of approximately 20 watchmakers.
