Super rare artifact and designer / decorative piece from one of the best watch manufacturers in the world: Omega:
A 14cm high hourglass in its original packaging, probably a promotional gift from Omega
Instead of sand, it contains tiny iron filings. A strong magnet is built into the "stand," so the force exerted by the iron filings causes them to form the patterns shown in the photos.
This unique piece—I haven't found another one on eBay or anywhere else online—isn't used for timekeeping; the iron filings run through in less than a minute. It's a designer piece for display on a shelf or desk, and also an ideal gift for an Omega collector or freak.
The (for the small filling ...) very large and bulbous hourglass glass is probably hand-blown, the stand with the magnet is signed "Omega"
