The object of this offer is a very, very rare artifact of watches and 70s designs by the world-renowned artist Heinz Te Laake:

A kinetic art mechanical ladies' wristwatch in exquisite 925 sterling silver. The unique artifact is not only hand-signed by Te Laake personally on the sterling silver bracelet, it is even one of 1 - 5 copies that the artist received for his own use from the strictly limited edition

The unique artifact from 1974, according to the signature, was therefore never for sale and presumably comes from the artist's estate.

Case dimensions: 28mm x 28mm, total weight is a heavy 120g, the scrap silver value of the bracelet and case alone is worth 150 euros.

It is an unknown mechanical hand-wound caliber, there are no hands on the dial, but 2 squares each with a blue and a red tip for time display, these rotate around a central axis

This unique, strictly limited and therefore highly valuable piece starts and runs immediately (accuracy not checked)

Condition: 2 - best condition for its age, hardly any recognizable signs of age or wear

The Artist:

Kinetic art in a silver watch – by Heinz te Laake (1925–2001)

Heinz te Laake was a German multidisciplinary artist known for his kinetic paintings and sculptures in the context of clockworks. Some of his kinetic clock objects from the 1970s and 1980s were included in the collections of the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam and the Wilhelm-Hack-Museum in Ludwigshafen

This kinetic watch is made of 925 sterling silver (bracelet) and stainless steel (dial); it is hand-signed by Te Laake personally with the artist's name and year of manufacture engraved.

Condition: 1* - possibly unused stock! Best collector's condition, dials unrestored and fully signed and perfectly preserved! Hardly any recognizable signs of age or wear except for 2 minor nicks in the glass, but any good watchmaker can replace that for 25 euros.

Life and work of the artist Heinz Te Laake (Source: Wikipedia)

Heinz te Laake (* January 2 1925 in Berlin; † May 2 2001 in Erbach in the Rheingau) was a German artist who worked in the fields of painting, kinetics and sculpture.

From 1945 to 1950, Heinz te Laake studied at the University of the Arts Berlin under Karl Schmidt-Rottluff. He undertook extended study trips through Europe and extensive studies in the Louvre in Paris and the National Museum in Athens. After his studies, he worked as a freelance artist in Düsseldorf and at Schloss Reinhartshausen, where he had a studio apartment with his wife Marlis te Laake. He is buried with her in the Erbach cemetery.

In addition to panel painting, he worked on kinetic objects, moving pictures and sculptures with clockworks since 1957. Te Laake also dealt with themes of applied art, designing not only clocks but also collector's porcelains and table decorations, and not least artist's labels for various Rheingau wineries, including Schloss Reinhartshausen and specifically for the Balthasar Ress Winery[1].

Works by Heinz te Laake are in various private collections as well as museums, including the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam and the Musée des Arts Decoratifs in Lausanne. His painterly work is currently being documented and prepared for a catalogue raisonné by KunstKontor, Wiesbaden.
