Rare Junghans Caliber J 29A Torpedo Runtime Stopwatch Runtime Clock with typical top indirect second and onion crown, as was common for Kriegsmarine ship's clocks in the late 1930s, see Knirim p. 256ff
A rare piece of military and naval watch history that does not often come onto the market
Description:
The Junghans Torpedo runtime clock, stopwatch has the usual naval dimensions of 47mm case diameter, silver dial signed with full "Junghans" lettering with a top indirect second, onion crown, pressed three-cover watch with inner movement protection cover, spotless "Junghans 29A" signed movement
This signature is extraordinarily rare; usually, only a "J" was embossed in the logo star. I have never seen the name "Junghans" fully spelled out in the star in 35 years of watch collecting passion
The stopwatch is fully functional (accuracy not tested). Signed movement spotless, case and glass show few discernible signs of age or use, unrestored dial in perfect condition
Condition 1 - 2: used collector's condition with hardly discernible signs of age or use. Winds smoothly, runs and functions perfectly (accuracy not tested), all covers close firmly and flush, no scratches from opening
