History of the Rochat watchmaking dynasty since 1719 (Source: Sammler-Uhren.com):

Rochat
Swiss watchmaking family
The Rochat family of Swiss watchmakers is one of the most famous in the Vallée de Joux region of Switzerland. In 1719, the Rochats built a house in Le Brassus and began producing not only simple movements with verge escapements , but also repeater cadratures with carillons and musical movements , primarily for Geneva-based companies.

In 1815, Pierre Rochat and his sons, Ami Napoléon and Louis, moved to Geneva . They specialized in musical mechanisms and singing bird automatons , which they signed " Pierre Rochat & fils ." Later, the sons went into business for themselves and continued the successful tradition with their famous cadratures under the name "Rochat Frères."

After 1820 , the successors of the Rochat brothers associated themselves with Louis Reymond , an outstanding student of Breguet . From 1923 onward, they manufactured excellent movements with seconde morte and repeater cadratures under the signature " Rochat, Reymond & Cie. " They expanded their watch trade to China. Members of the Rochat family are still active in the watch industry today.
