Rarest, large Chinese folding sundial with compass fully functional
16cm x 16cm solid wood, central compass, 4 hinged and lockable segments
This magnificent piece of (sundial) history is covered in Chinese characters and can be set in multiple ways - presumably to the season, time of day, time of day, location, etc.
Not only are the 4 folding segments, each with fold-out "pointers" for the shadow cast, easily alignable and equipped with various scales, but the central, functional compass is also surrounded by scales (possibly zodiac signs).
The four locking devices for raising the "subdials" are also intricately labeled in Chinese and can be locked and set at six different angles (this probably has something to do with the time of day or proximity to the equator... see photos).

The wonderfully complicated solid wood sundial is undoubtedly very old. If it was once built as a souvenir, then it must have been at least 100 years ago and date back to the era of the German occupation and the Boxer Rebellion, which would also make it an ancient artifact and witness to the times/eras.
It may also be much older and was used, for example, in shipping or for astronavigation
Of course, the artifact can also serve only for decorative purposes due to its complicated and exotic structure and the individually possible installation angles
This magnificent piece is in absolutely excellent condition, with the only flaw being that a "pointer" for setting up/casting the shadow is missing, but its mount and axis in the wood, as well as a small fragment, are preserved (see photos). Even a layperson can make and replace it with a fretsaw using the other templates.

Consequences of revocation
If you cancel this contract, we will refund all payments that we have received from you, including delivery costs (with the exception of additional costs resulting from your choice of a delivery method other than the cheapest standard delivery offered by us), immediately and at the latest within fourteen days from the day on which we received notification of your cancellation of this contract.
For this refund, we will use the same means of payment that you used for the original transaction, unless something else was expressly agreed with you; under no circumstances will you be charged any fees for this refund.
We may refuse repayment until we have received the goods back or until you have provided evidence that you have returned the goods, whichever is the earlier.
